THE GREATNESS
OF KINGS
The Greatness of Kings is a vast political thriller, based on events in New York, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Havana and Brussels, set between 1974 and 1998. It follows the adventures of impoverished aristocratic twins, sister and brother, searching for their roots after the mysterious death of their mother, an Ethiopian princess in exile.
The title refers to a priceless antique manuscript at the core of the intrigues, but also, with a cynical twist, to the corruption of all power and politics.

"Living mostly between the Caribbean and New York for all the years between 1985 and 2017, inspired one with the contrasts between tropical island life and the metropolis. But there was no contradiction. The urban environments were just as full of spirits and secret forces as the beaches, the waves, the jungles and the mountains of Jamaica and Cuba. It all mingled to form a personal mythology"

Joaquin Portocarero´s
The LEGEND OF KHIEY
The graphic novel that never was.
80 plus pages! A5 format
An ambitious graphic novel that never was,at least not when it was drawn and written, twenty or so years ago.
It was made, then forgotten, stored deep underground in a basement in Manhattan,
then retrieved from oblivion by the merest coincidence and turned out
to have become more relevant, more insightful than at the time of its origins.
In its presentation here, the unachieved and evolving character of the book has been preserved and respected.
This makes for an inspiring mixture of easy-flowing narrative
alternating with raw footage, sketches and stand-alone images, all contributing to the overall effect.
This is a unique and highly original work.
